Good Friday Wedding at Shuckers

For the second time in a week, we had a weekday wedding, and both at Shuckers (aka Island Beach Resort) where Lori and the staff had everything in tip top shape. This was a destination Florida Wedding, as our couple was coming over from the UK (via USAF) to tie the knot. Weddings by Rachel handled the day of coordination and officiating, and DJ Louie G handled the entertainment both with their usual great style, while The Cake Lady brought in a very cool(and yummy) cake. That was the good news. On the other hand, they found a florist from southern Palm Beach county. Unbelievably, they were still attempting to decorate the arch for the ceremony….a full 30 minutes after the ceremony was to have begun thus causing the ceremony (and everything else) to start more than a half hour late. Also from PB county…..came the hair and makeup crew..who similarly, were still finishing a mere 15 minutes prior to the ceremony start time. Sadly, they just dont realize that by finishing so late, a lot of other things that could be accomplished simply cant be done as there just isnt any time left even though technically they finished “on time”. On time, doesn’t mean just being done before the ceremony time. Folks dont let this happen to you. Hair and M/U need to be completed at least an hour before! Better for your nerves….better for all the other pros that have to do their job, and really, you dont want them “rushing” to do the brides hair or makeup….it’s all just common sense, but Hair/MU is the single most common reason the time line is disrupted. I dont usually go on a rant like this, but it needs to be said. Hire professionals, and these sorts of things dont occur. There is a reason we see the same companies being referred all the time, and this is one of them. Florist, Hair, Makeup, Photographer, Video, DJ….regardless of type of service, pros know there is more to the day than their little slice of it. Everything we all do, has the potential to impact the job the rest of the pros are able to do, and thus we must not only be cognizant of that impact, but ENSURE that our job is done in a manner that won’t adversely affect the rest of the day for the bride and groom. Luckily, we were able to get the formals and romantics done efficiently so we made up the 40 minutes things were behind so that the food (which of course is already under way) could be served near its planned time thus preserving its fantastic taste and the party ran as it should the rest of the evening. <> hahahaha anyway, for all you brides to be out there, use this as a learning tool, and make sure you work with professionals who value your WHOLE DAY experience and not just their little part in your day.
Anyway, enjoy some of our favorites below, and as always you can see em all by clicking on their little thumbnail on the right hand side of the page.====>>>>
