March 13, 2016. This Engagement session image was taken at 10 Mile Creek Preserve in Ft Pierce, Florida. A very unique location all but unknown to most people including most area residents. Obviously this is a country couple, and this location just screams country, or backwoods, or nature. Across the the water you can see a Florida Cracker style shack or boathouse which really adds to the backwoods feel for this engagement session. The groom to be had this fantastic stetson hat which of course made this country themed engagement session really come to life. One of my favorites from this fantastic engagement session. We chose to make this image in monochrome, using the chocolate flavor pallet as it too adds to the old timey look and feel of the session. Additionally, we have augmented the "available light" here by adding just a touch of light from the left to fill in the faces a bit which were of course in shadow from the sun beaming in from back right. It is this deft handling of the light, which creates an image very close to the way the human eye renders the scene that separates great portraiture from the mundane.
