This shot of a youth T-Ball team features a custom background, with each individual composited in. this method has several advantages, especially at this age level. As you can see each child is actually looking at the camera. Each player is well lit, and has a nice expression on his face. All things that really never happen when attempting to shoot this age group as a "group". Too many distractions. Instead, we shoot them all on a green screen, and then extract them with a transparent background and place them into the "team shot". We can even add in additional cool elements as well, like logos or in this case the smoke effect, which is left over from our more intricate custom banner designs using the same scheme. Such consistency in output is the main benefit from this technique, but not far behind is the speed on shooting day. Literally half the shooting time for each team has been shaved off. Getting kids back on the field and playing that much quicker.
