The elevator used here is fantastic, albeit incredibly dark. This available light magic was made possible partly by the NIkon D3s and its high iso capabilities, and partly by necessity as we were forced indoors by the windy weather. The old lemons to lemonade thing!

So this week’s wedding found us once again back at one of our favorite  venues.  Lauren and the staff at the Jupiter Beach Resort once again did a fantastic job, despite a last minute change in plans by our bride to move the ceremony inside rather than risk the wind on the bluffs.  Without missing a beat they simply shifted EVERYTHING to the east ballroom.  Rachel from Weddings by Rachel even had a “back up” arch in her van to accommodate, and she got all the decorations re-set inside which was no small feat either!  Once the ceremony was complete, the staff amazingly reset the reception room in the 15 minutes or so it took us to complete the formals, which again is pretty dog gone amazing considering the level of decorations!!  Way to go JBR team!  On a different note, this was yet another example of how being a great dj is not about the music.  What you are really hiring is the emcee ability and talent.  The ability to be ready for anything, and handle it with aplomb, the ability to coordinate with the other wedding pro’s and the banquet hal staff, not to mention the bride and groom, the talent to handle intros that make sense, and the experience to  be prepared for all the formalities are the little things that if done well…all go unnoticed.

Since the wind was blowing so hard, the bride wasnt comfortable going outside, so we did our romantics indoors, and wound up getting some pretty cool shots on the steps and even in the dark elevator. Check em out below by clicking the read more tab >>>>

Saturday found us in Ft Pierce for an evening ceremony at the 1st United Methodist Church, then it was off to the Old City Hall building for the reception.  The wedding team included Giordanos Floral Creations who did their usual FAB job on the ladies bouquets.  Island Party Rentals provided all the decorations at the hall, and Chef Neal prepared a scrumptious dinner feast for everyone.  Towards the end of the evening, it was Karaoke time, and everyone belted out their favorite tunes.  This….it seems is the “for better or worse” part right?  hahahah anyway, everyone had a great time and shared lots of love and good times!  To see more pix click >>>

So after a much too long an absence, we finally got back to our favorite venue in the area Saturday, Ballantrae Country Club, (now called the Santa Lucia River Club at Ballantrae) but the locals all call it just Ballantrae.   Always our favorite, Saturday reminded us of why in a big way!  Carol and her staff had the place looking wonderful with help from Jade at Island Party Rentals who had the ceiling draped for dramatic effect. Barbara from Country Club Florists did her thing on the bouquets, and every detail was gone over; but the real superstar is of course the setting.  Steps from the riverside, with a nice cool breeze blowing, is such an amazing place to tie the knot.  Once we got them officially married, we worked the property for some romantics, and while the real sunset kind of fizzled….the afterglow was truly grand.  Winding up over on the 18th green in the twilight, we had just enough light to make some killer shots when the colors really popped out in the sky ever so briefly.   Then it was back inside where Eclipse Entertainment took over and had them partying all night long.

Saturday found us returning to one of our favorite venues that’s just received a huge makeover!  Willoughby Country Club in Palm City.  The new digs are truly wonderful, and make a great setting for any wedding or party!  The staff was as attentive as ever too!  Thanks to the glorious weather we’ve been having (jk)…..the ceremony was moved in under the covered patio area where everyone could be protected from the rain and wind.  It ended up being not that bad outside, but still it was better under the cover than out in the elements.  Once Michael from Weddings by Rachel got them officially betrothed, we jaunted out onto the grounds for some quick romantics as the light dwindled (and thankfully the rain too).  After that it was back inside where DJ Harry G and the Entertainment Connections Premier DJ’s put on their show for everyone with costume changes, and choreographed (and some freestyle too) dances they really brought eveyrone to life.  They even provided a photobooth for the guests to play with in the other room!   Ralph and Sarah from Giordano’s Floral Creations had the place really looking wonderful with their decorations and the flowers were simply spectacular!  You can see some of our favorites by clicking the read more tab>>

Saturday, we once again visited an old standby venue; (Indian Riverside Park), but Weddings by Rachel had them at an entirely new and different little spot within the park to perform their nuptials.  Rather then the typical spot by the dock…or under the big oak tree….or even the little beach spot from 2 weeks ago, we ventured out by the pond near the butterfly garden for a unique little spot that worked out just perfect for Maria and Tim to tie the knot.  There was a grand total of maybe 7 people, but as you can see that was of no consequence for us in capturing some terrific memories of their big day.  Ralphie and Sarah, from Giordano’s Floral Creations out did themselves yet again creating an intricately beautiful set  bouquets and flowers for them.  They even had a very cool wedding cake brought out to the scene which added a nice touch as well. Rachel worked her magic and got them wed, and now they are off to the islands for a well deserved honeymoon.  See some of our faves by clicking on the read more button>>

An infrared look at the magical first kiss for our wedding on the beach

Indian Riverside Park has long been one of the most popular venues on the Treasure Coast, and Saturday, once again proved why.  John from All in Fun supplied all the decorations,  Ralph (well probably Sarah ) from Giordanos Floral Creations made some kickin bouquets, and Jane and Folker from Silver Platter Entree’s cooked up some fine cuisine for everyone for sure, but there was one cool twist however, was the actual site for the ceremony.  Typically, its right outside the doors on the patio by the dock.  Or, over by the big oaks…but not Saturday.   Angela and Aaron had something different in mind, so they set the ceremony up right on the “beach” itself.  Literally steps from the river, they tied the knot just before the sun set.  First however, we met them at River Palms Cottages, which feature tropical bungalow’s for their guests; where Angela was getting ready.  Once the hair and makeup was finally complete, she hopped into her dress and after a couple really quick shots, I dashed back over to the Park to get ready for her arrival minutes later.   After a wonderful ceremony, and some nice romantic portraits by the water, we turned our couple over to Lynette and Wesley from Traxx Entertainment’s hands where they rocked the party all night long both musically, and they also had the room lit up in very cool colors to set the mood!  It so nice to work with professionals of this level, as everyone involved is on the same page throughout the evening.  They showed a thru the years slideshow on a stretch screen, which also was there for music videos, so we took advantage and projected a few dozen images from the day up for all the guests to enjoy while dancing the night away.   After the sparkler exit, Aaron and Angie took to the seas…well…sort of, they did leave by boat, but the river was very choppy with the strong winds which made it feel like the seas I’m sure.  Anyway, they are off to Costa Rica for some very cool honeymoon fun!  Check out some of our favorites by clicking the read the rest button>>>>

Continue reading »]]> So, we finally got to shoot a wedding at the Brisa Del Mar clubhouse on Hutchinson Island in Jensen Beach.  Patrice, Michael and the staff had the place looking fine and the service was terrific!  Even got to sample some of the food too which was excellent indeed.  The weather dictated that the ceremony take place up on the deck, and it went off wonderfully.  After that some quick shots on the beach and then it was back into Brisa for the rest of the evening.  Stephanie from Misty Rose provided the floral arrangements, while Party Tenders and Executive Events handled the food and beverages of course.  They had a photobooth on scene as well.   After they left, we took the opportunity to whip out the green screen and make a couple cool portraits using the hollywood technology to its fullest.  Kinda cool to be able to use the venues own beach/deck scene as the background for portraits that were taken late in the evening indoors. Another cool Infrared wedding image from Benvenuto’s

It’s been a while since we shot at Benvenuto’s in Boynton Bch, and it was with great anticipation that we awaited this weekends event.  Our bride and groom had really fallen in love with one of our most popular shots ever, the bluejean infrared shot from Benvenuto’s, so we had to try to put a fresh spin on that just for them.  Thing was, daylight savings ended the day before which presented the evening skies much darker than on our original shot.  No matter, we still managed to come up with some killer IR shots even though it was near dark.  Then we scooted back inside, where the band took over for the rest of the evening.

As most of you know, we kinda do a lot of weddings.  I’m not sure that I’ve ever encountered  a crowd that partied any harder than this group on Saturday at our Ft Myers wedding.  We knew lots of the family, as we had shot the brother of our bride’s wedding a couple years ago, so it wasn’t a total shock .   To add to the drama, the remnants of Hurricane Rina were sending huge rain squalls over the area all way right up to the ceremony!  So the day started out pretty much normal as we covered the getting ready for Carla and her crew at their hotel; then it was off to the church.  A very nice church it was too, and all was going great until the priest gave us the bums rush to get out of there stating they had another wedding at 2:15….(um gee…why would you schedule another wedding 1:15 after the first wedding, knowing the ceremony was going to be almost an hour????).  Time stamp on the images shows the ceremony ending at 2pm….we didnt even get to take the first formal shot until 2:13 as the guests had to file out of course;  oh…….last formal shot was 2:27….so that means it took us a whopping 13 minutes to do all the formals   Oh well, that just made it even more odd that he felt the need to say anything in the first place.   I just love it when their poor scheduling gets shoved onto the bride and groom to rush their big day…… Anyway, this is where it all started to get interesting as we all boarded what turned out to be the PARTY bus!  Had to make a quick stop at a liquor store for more supplies, then off to Sanibel Island for some quick romantics, fun fun fun, and then it was back on the bus (plus another quick stop for beer) and back to the reception at the Harborside Event Center….whew!!  Once we got settled and inside, Justin from The Entertainment Connection took over and had the house rocking all the way till midnight!  They even served a midnight buffet of sorts, complete with pancakes and bacon!  All in all a very interesting evening/weekend.  See some of our favorite images by clicking>>

So, when you plan a wedding at the beach….you probably dont plan on 35 mph+ winds, off and on again torrential downpours, outrageous surf conditions and all that right?  Well, that’s just what we had on Sunday at the Pelican Grand Resort in Ft Lauderdale.   Apart from that Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?  Not so fast!  Turns out the gazebo on the rooftop provided just enough shelter from the winds, and the good Lord above provided just enough of a break in the rains to allow Nerissa and Gary to tie the knot in style without getting blown away or drenched!   We even managed to catch some great romantic stuff of the couple up there on the rooftops as well.  This was a small intimate event with maybe 15 people.  No matter, we still gave em hundreds of great shots.  Check out a few more of our favorites by clicking >>
