It is with a heavy heart that I write about the passing of a good friend, a great photographer, and a pioneer; Colyn Rees. A native of Bermuda, Colyn was a B26A pilot for the RAF during WW2, and as a pilot and photographer, has chronicled the development of the Bahamas for nearly 60 years. His collection of images is nothing short of breathtaking and truly depicts Abaco and the surrounding islands of the Bahamas as they were prior to the recent tourism boom which has developed the islands to an almost unrecognizable mecca for Americans and Euros alike. You can read a bit more about his life HERE.
As friend; he will be dearly missed. Rest in Peace my friend….and my heartfelt sympathies go out to Trisha and the rest of his family.
